Embraced by the Julian Alps and its thousand-year-old forest, which at 24,000 hectares is the largest state forest in Italy, Tarvisio is the meeting point of Italy, Slovenia and Austria, a unique and borderless crossroads of languages and cultures, to be experienced and discovered in all seasons. 24 km of skiable areas including the 4 km of the Di Prampero slope, which descends from Mount Lussari with a breathtaking view and is also open at night. A true paradise of technique and tracks await you if, on the other hand, you practice or want to try cross-country skiing in Arena Paruzzi and on the slopes of the upper and lower Saisera Valley. If you don't ski or want to take a break from the slopes, all you have to do is choose between snowshoeing, ice climbing for all levels, and then carriage rides, simple walks, dog sledding at the Fusine lakes, bobsleighing on rails and an entertainment area suitable for young and old: snow, skiing and ice in Tarvisio are within everyone's reach! From late spring, you can indulge in trekking on cross-border routes such as the Alpe Adria Trail and Made, by bike along Made or the Alpe Adria Radweg cycle route, with via ferrata and climbing routes on the peaks of the Julian Alps, or in simple walks in the silence of Val Bartolo, Val Saisera and the Fusine lakes, where you can even get your four-legged friends to help you with dog trekking. Art, tradition, religion and taste. Visit the village of Mount Lussari, served by the gondola that is also open in summer, discover the art of lute-making and woodworking, watch the descent of the Krampus live, savour the cuisine and typical products of a border land. Tarvisio is your ideal destination in every season!
