At the foot of the Matese massif lies the municipality of San Massimo, which in its highest part, at 1429 meters high, hosts the summer and winter tourist resort of Campitello Matese. The district offers an incomparable natural spectacle, whose richness of landscape is evidenced by the scenarios designed by beech, chestnut, oak and oak trees that are interspersed with large areas.
