Immersed in the woods of the Sibillini Mountains, Frontignano Ussita is a medium-sized ski resort, one of the most important in Central Italy. The lift park is modern and includes 2 chairlifts and a 200 m treadmill in the school field. It offers 8 downhill slopes, a snowpark, a toboggan and bobsleigh run and a school camp. There are two main slopes connected to each other on skis: the highest one suitable for intermediate and expert skiers where among the slopes for alpine skiing we point out the black Canalone, which covers over 600 meters of elevation gain, starting from the arrival of the chairlift Selvapiana, one of the longest slopes of the Apennines. The second area of the Saliere with its wide slopes and the low altitude from 1350 to 1600 is more suitable for beginners both in skiing and snowboarding. Only if you go down to the right of the Belvedere chairlift there is a short challenging stretch, the black Direttissima, then the slope becomes more accessible. Freeride enthusiasts will find many variants to the beaten tracks that lead back to the ski lifts such as the slopes of Mount Bicco with its small gully, the descent from Cornaccione to Canalone or the beautiful Val di Bove while ski mountaineers have a wide choice including Mount Cornaccione (1769 m), Mount Bove Nord (2113 m) and Mount Bicco (2052 m). Finally, there is the possibility to enjoy Nordic walking and snowshoeing in the woods.
