Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (1723m) is at the center of a nature oasis on the edge of the Gran Paradiso National Park and is the highest touristic resort of the homonymous valley. Far from the most crowded tourist itineraries, it has slopes suitable for beginners, but even for the most brave skiers. The Rhêmes Valley (Valle di Rhêmes) has two skiing areas for a total of 7 km of tracks (6 of which are covered with artificial snow). The first, in the locality of Chavaney, is equipped with one 4-seater chairlift with a boarding platform that delivers a total of 1,200 people now and 1 treadmill along 100m for school field. The second, placed in Capoluogo, is a snow park. It has three treadmills and many facilities, such as snow bikes, ski foxes, airboards, rubber tubes both for kids and adults. Rhêmes Valley is both the realm of ski mountaineering with numerous and famous routes, and it is also an undisputed paradise of Nordic skiing with several rings of different levels that run from the resort Chanavey up to the picturesque Pellaud Lake. In recent years, fans have been able to appreciate the itineraries dedicated to walking with snowshoes. In this area there are also many interesting frozen waterfalls. Rhemes-Notre-Dame has 7 hotels, 1 restaurant and the Benevolo Refuge. There are many typical restaurants for every taste. It can be reached from Italy by the A5 motor-way Turin-Aosta, exit Aosta-Ovest. Follow the Monte Bianco-Courmayeur direction on the SS26 and in Villeneuve deviation for Rhemes-Notre-Dame. From France and Switzerland it can be reached by the Gran San Bernardo Tunnel, follow the Monte Bianco-Courmayeur direction on the SS26.
