Years ago the Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei was recognized as "Austria's family ski area with the best price-performance ratio". The statement is still true today, because skiing is free for children under 6 years, there is a full 50 percent discount for schoolchildren and teens between 6 and 18 years. The Grossglockner Resort Kals-Matrei is the largest ski area in East Tyrol and known for its diverse family slopes.
