Cesana Torinese is a small town in Val di Susa, at an altitude of 1350 m; it lies in a hollow protected by the massif of Mount Chaberton, at the confluence of the Piccola Dora and the Ripa torrent, which then form the Doria Riparia. Cesana is at the center of the Vialattea ski area to which it is very well connected. You can access the ski facilities after having passed the town, at La Comba, on the road to Sestriere. From here, the cable car to San Sicario starts on the left side, while a chairlift heads towards the right slope. Three modern four-seater chairlifts lead to Colle Bercia where it is possible to go down to Claviere. This is the Monti della Luna ski area, which covers 110 km of slopes in the two towns of Claviere and Cesana. In the Cesana ski area, skiers will find various slopes: 16 red, 9 black and 11 blue slopes for alpine skiing. On the Olympic slope Pariol Cesana hosted the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton competitions of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and continues to be the site of the European Cup, Italian Championships and World Championships. Those looking for excitement in spring and summer can walk the Tibetan bridge suspended in the void for 468 meters, at a height of 30 meters above the ground, in the canyon at the confluence of the river Gimont and Piccola Dora, in the area of the Gorge of San Gervasio.
