Tatranská Lomnica is one of the three largest settlements in the Tatras: Štrbské Pleso, Starý Smokovec, and Tatranská Lomnica. Together with other settlements, they form the town of Vysoké Tatry. The settlement is located at the foot of the Lomnický štít massif.
The most attractive tourist attraction in the High Tatras is a trip by cable car to Lomnický štít (2643 m above sea level) - the second highest peak in the High Tatras and the highest accessible place in Slovakia by cable car.
A modern cable car with a capacity of 15 people will take you from the bustling Skalnaté pleso to the kingdom of silence in just a few unforgettable minutes. A 35-minute limited stay around the summit station will provide you with an unforgettable view from a bird's eye perspective of the majestic High Tatras and the surrounding Slovak and Polish landscape. On the summit, you will find not only refreshments but also the highest astronomical institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
