The ski area of Sampeyre is one of the most interesting in the province of Cuneo as it can offer, at its maximum potential, a difference in height of 1500m. It is currently equipped with a ski-lift and two modern two-seater chair-lifts (S.Anna chair-lift and Varisella chair-lift) that cover a difference in height of about 900m. The snowfall from 950 to 1450 meters is guaranteed by a snowmaking system that allows you to always reach the village on skis. In the realization of the Sampeyre ski lifts, the main focus was on environmental quality. The arrival station of the first chairlift, as well as the departure station of the second one, have been built in stone with a covering of local stone slabs. The restaurant located between the two chairlifts (Ristoro S. Anna) is also made of stone and slab and offers a unique view of Monviso and the Saluzzo plain from its wide solarium. At the arrival of the second lot, in a clearing surrounded by larch and stone pine forests, an ancient rural alpine refuge (Rifugio Meyra Garneri) has been renovated for accommodation purposes. Lovers of ski mountaineering and hiking can use the lifts for the approach to the destinations and accommodation facilities at high altitude as stopover points. Sampeyre also offers a cross-country skiing trail of about 8 km, beaten both for the classic style and for the alternate style. The Sampeyre station is part of the Monviso area, which also includes the towns of Bellino, Pontechianale, Crissolo and Pian Munè.
